Joseph Nystrom is a 2028 SS/2B/3B with a 5-7 140 lb. frame from Alpharetta, GA who attends Denmark. Features a medium-sized lean build with plenty of room to add. Ran a 7.50 60-yd dash. In the OF, showed quality actions. Worked direct to the baseball with some quickness through reception. Fielded everything clean with reception slightly off to side and back. Arm showed above avg. strength for his level where it showed looseness to a downhill release and most of his throws were one-hip accurate. In the INF, showed fundamental actions. Light feet but taller in his approach. Eventually got set into a good fielding position where he showed decent glove skill but at times some deeper points of reception. Present glove-tap/reshuffle into release where his throws showed quality strength but not as accurate as the OF. At the plate, sits in a medium base with tight hands that hold a flatter barrel. Simple forward stride as the hands load the barrel with a higher elbow. Shows quick hands in throwing the barrel on an uphill path where he shows some intent to lift to the pullside. Some inconsistent timing and feel for the barrel but did find some quality LD barrels to all fields. On the mound, used an easy-effort tall/fall delivery. Landed slightly closed showing some crossfire. Tall at finish as well and in a good fielding position. Arm worked loose/continuous out the back to a higher 3/4 slot. FB was up to 80 that garnered a good amount of in-zone whiffs during his outing. Mixed in a developing mid 60s breaking ball that showed slurvy shape that he backed up a couple times, leaking it to the armside.
