Joseph McMannis is a 2023 RHP/1B, 2B, 3B, SS, MIF, IF with a 6-4 225 lb. frame from Emmitsburg, MD who attends Catoctin. XL frame with broad, physical build; ran 60 yard dash in 7.39 seconds. Primary righthanded pitcher, soft plunge through back of arm stroke, good direction to delivery, uses lower half well and drives downhill, fastball worked 88-91 mph with command to both sides, held velocity well and missed bats consistently with fastball, showed slider with good tilt that flashed hard bite, slurvier curveball with shape for strikes, consistently dominant outing. Hits from bent knee stance with wrapped hands, deep bar into load, late and steep launch, strength stands out when on time, can drive ball pull-side when on time. Showed off the arm strength defensively, reaching 87 mph on throws from shortstop, has good hands in the infield as well with good pace to actions. Very good student, verbally committed to Maryland, named to 2022 Sunshine Northeast Top Prospect List.
