2021 Preseason HS Prospect Showcase
Zachary Hoskins is a 2022 OF/RHP with a 5-10 180 lb. frame from Mishawaka, IN who attends Penn. Athletic build with good present strength. 6/95 runner in the sixty. Aggressive to the ball in the outfield, has a short and compact arm action in the outfield with some carry to his throws, makes accurate throws and gets rid of the ball quickly. Left handed hitter, hits from a spread stance, has good hand quickness and gets the barrel out front well, has some lift out front for some pull power projection, will continue to improve as a hitter as he develops more consistent timing into his swing. Also pitched, has the same compact arm action that hides the ball well from hitters, simple turn and throw delivery that he repeated well. Fastball topped out at 83 mph and got on hitters quickly, especially up in the zone. Slurve type breaking ball was a solid pitch with good power and some depth, flashed a change up. Dominating performance throwing his two primary pitches for strikes. Named to the Preseason HS Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List.
