TJ Woodson is a 2025 SS/RHP with a 6-0 165 lb. frame from Mechanicsville, VA who attends Hanover. Lean athletic build with plenty of room to get stronger. Primary shortstop on defense, has clean and smooth actions through the ball, can make the athletic play, maintains his arm strength and accuracy from all slots and can make plays on the move, showed a quick first step with side to side range, definitely a next level defender in the middle of the field. Right handed hitter, hits from an open stance with a high hand set, rhythm based swing with lots of check marks, turns well in his core to create back speed, works gap to gap with some jump off the barrel. Also pitched and has mound talent as well, has an athletic delivery from a full wind up, throws from over the top with good arm quickness and acceleration. Fastball worked in the mid 80's and topped out at 87 mph, has some arm side life. Slider was his best pitch with hard spin and good bite. Flashed a change up that had potential. Lots of area to continue to develop. Verbal commitment to Baylor. Excellent student. Named to the Virginia Indoor Showcase Top Prospect List.

Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
