Masa Chilcutt is a 2025 C/3B with a 5-9 165 lb. frame from San Antonio, TX who attends Johnson. Features a smaller/athletic build with some sneaky strength. Ran a 6.69 60-yd dash. In the INF, showed showed clean actions. Works low to the ground with active feet and gets to his spots on time. Displayed sureness to the hands where he gets rid of it with some quickness. Kept a shorter AA that showed avg. strength across for his level with present accuracy. Behind the plate, flashed above avg. catch throw ability. Worked from a one-knee down set up and showed quickness out the crouch where he gained ground with good direction. Exchange was quick and compact at the upper chest and kept a short arm action where he got off throws in a hurry. Accuracy was inconsistent with 2/5 being sent clean to second. At the plate, he stands with a medium base with loose/rhythmic hands. Uses a leg lift trigger where the hands move slightly up in his load. The barrel/hands then work on a more direct/linear path to the baseball. There's quickness to the hands that help supply some quality bat speed. Stayed behind it well and showed good leverage with his lower half. Was on-barrel the majority of his BP round and stayed through the middle of the field throughout. Currently uncommitted.
