2022 National Underclass Showcase-Main Event
Sean Messina is a 2026 OF/ with a 6-2 175 lb. frame from Cortez, FL who attends IMG Academy. Good frame with some length and solid present physicality with plenty of time to add over time. Ran the 60 yard dash in 7.61 seconds. Primary position OF, sitting back a bit and working methodically to the ball. Working glove off to the side with deeper midline transfer into a quick compact arm stroke. Throws were online and quite accurate with clean spin up to 79 mph to the bags. RHH working from a straight, inline stance and strides slightly open to launch. Rotational swing, turning full in the midsection. Flat path to the ball with emerging hand strength. Pull oriented approach with an inside-out hand path showing some lofted power to the pull side when on time. Skills here for a younger prospect who is uncommitted and an outstanding student.
