Justin Lanier is a 2023 OF/LHP with a 5-10 150 lb. frame from Laredo, TX who attends Laredo United. Lean athletic frame. Ran a 6.93 60-yard dash. Showed some two-way ability mostly standing out with the bat at the South Uncommitted Showcase. An outfielder with a quick first step and the speed to go get the baseball in the outfield. Showed fundamental footwork getting directly to the baseball with some momentum working through the baseball. Fields the baseball out front and showed a solid average throwing arm with on line accuracy. Hit from a wide base and square stance at the plate with a deep load and level swings through the zone with average bat speed. Always gets the foot down early and showed the ability to really get to the barrel consistently in BP and in games where he collected four hits in six at-bats including a triple. A left-handed pitcher that showed fastball/slider on the mound out of a high three quarter arm slot. Controls the movements in the delivery well and threw plenty of strikes. Named to South Uncommitted Showcase Top Prospect List. Great Student.
