Trey Yerta is a 2018 SS/MIF, OF with a 5-8 155 lb. frame from Topeka, KS who attends Washburn Rural. Compact frame with a lean build. Ran a 7.60 sixty-yard dash. Primary shortstop with fundamental footwork while surrounding the baseball. Showed occasional range with developing fluidity while funneling the baseball. Efficient exchanges while working through transition and released from a compact three-quarters arm slot. Throws produced accurate carry to the bag topping at 73 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with an upright, knee knocking stance and high back elbow set. Created good shift into contact with linear lower half actions. Direct, compact path to contact and barrel came through the zone on a level plane. Primarily worked the middle of the field consistently squaring up contact between the gaps. Very good student as well.
