Walker Barron is a 2023 C/2B with a 5-11 175 lb. frame from Atlanta, GA who attends IMG Academy. Medium athletic build with good present strength. 6.82 runner in the sixty. Has very quick feet on defense behind the plate, fast out of his crouch and has side to side agility, has a quick release and stays on top of his throws well with on line carry, receives the ball cleanly, all the tools and skills to be a high level defensive catcher. Right handed hitter, hits from a slightly open stance with a simple trigger and shift, short and direct swing, creates some lift and launch on his pitch and flashes raw power. Good student, verbal commitment to East Carolina.
