Justin Best is a 2023 OF/MIF with a 6-3 201 lb. frame from Cornelius, NC who attends Combine Academy. Large, athletic frame with square shoulders and long limbs, present strength to frame with additional room to fill throughout. Fast-twitch, posted a 6.65 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, moves well on feet with quickness and athleticism on the approach, fields out front, ball comes out of hand cleanly with big arm strength and carry, arm would play in right field, solid accuracy to the intended base and repeats actions nicely. Left-handed hitter, begins with a deeper hand set, plenty of quickness in hands to get the barrel head out front on time. Looks to lift and generates nice leverage at the point of contact, occasionally gets under the ball, big jump off of the barrel to pull side when squared up. Power plays, generates loft and shows ability to work the other way on a line as well. Very good student. Verbal commitment to Florida State. Named to the 2022 Perfect Game All-American Classic.
