Alec Edwards is a 2022 1B/RHP, 3B with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Merrick, NY who attends Sanford H Calhoun. 7.38-second runner during the sixty-yard dash. Square shouldered, medium frame with present strength throughout build. Primary first baseman, aggressive approach to ball, moving fairly well around the bag. Short arm action with accurate throws up to 75 mph. Could improve foot speed and flexibility to improve overall athleticism. Secondary right-handed pitcher, worked with an athletic operation, repeated delivery well as he pounded the zone with two-pitch mix. 3/4 arm slot, working in all four quadrants of the zone, generates swing and misses with fastball and breaking ball. Worked up to 81 mph with his fastball as he moved it in and out of the zone. Competed on the mound during his two innings, missing barrels often. Right-handed hitter, even and balanced stance with a high back elbow. Lofted stroke with power to the pull side leaving the yard later in his round. Developing feel for barrel as he gets mistimed at times. Simplification of swing mechanics would generate more consistent hard contact. Good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
