Michael Roberson III is a 2024 C/RHP, 1B, 2B, 3B with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Minooka, IL who attends Providence Catholic. Large, athletic frame with square shoulders and present strength proportioned throughout build. Ran a 7.92 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, receives the ball out front and shows softness to hands, gains ground with lower half coming out of the crouch, quickness to transfer and shows solid arm strength and carry down to second base with accuracy, nice skills to build upon. Sound movements at first base on the approach and through the ball away from the bag, gathers well and shows sound footwork, strong arm with carry on throws across the diamond, deliberate pace to actions. Right-handed hitter, begins with a tall stance and a wide base in the box, utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing and tends to get wide moving into contact. Swings with intent and shows nice present bat speed through the zone, tends to open front side early in swing. Generates occasional loft out front at point of contact when staying through it and shows some whip to the barrel on to the point of contact. Good student.
