Troy Schneider is a 2019 LHP/OF with a 6-0 185 lb. frame from Chesterfield, MO who attends De Smet Jesuit HS. Large, athletic frame with square shoulders and present strength proportioned throughout release. Ran a 7.27 60-yard dash. Primary lefthanded pitcher, simple turn into delivery with leg lift just above belt, lands on line and works to a three-quarters release point with a short arm stroke through the back. Simple delivery, can continue to refine front side mechanics, creates extension out front at release with angle and shows running life to arm side on fastball that topped 77 mph. Pitches to contact and able to induce ground ball contact; pitched mostly off fastball, flashed changeup at 71mph, slows arm action prior to release. Righthanded hitter, begins with a narrow base and medium hand set at the plate; utilizes a contact oriented approach in the box with a short path through the zone. Stays linear with plane and and work all fields, shows carry to opposite field, line drive contact when squared. Outstanding student.
