Jayson Jones is a 2022 SS/3B with a 6-2 190 lb. frame from Savannah, TX who attends Braswell. Big and extra strong athletic build. Right handed hitter, hits from a spread stance with no stride into contact, very strong hips that he torques hard to drive his swing, has outstanding raw bat speed and impacts balls very hard, line drive swing plane but can overpower baseballs and hit for distance/power as well, highest level hitting prospect. 6.59 runner in the sixty. Primary shortstop at present, big arm strength and carry, has smooth actions through the ball and good hands, may out grow shortstop but can make an easy transition to third base if that happens. Excellent student, verbal commitment to Arkansas. Named to play in the Perfect Game All-American Classic.
