Bricen Smith is a 2024 SS/RHP/OF with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Perry, GA who attends Mt De Sales Academy. Large, athletic frame with broad shoulders and present strength proportioned throughout frame. Strong runner, posted a 6.62 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, shows quickness to footwork in the dirt, smooth actions going up the middle, will continue to refine glove work at the ball, shorter arm action and shows ability to change slots on throws, accurate throws across diamond; high energy actions from the outfield, on line throws with present strength and carry out of hand, medium length to arm action, quickness to footwork. Also pitched, similar short arm action, leg lift up to belt, remains upright with delivery, can incorporate additional lower half drive towards the plate. Over-the-top release point, fastball topped out at 83 mph with occasional cut action, gets on top of fastball. Pitched to contact, sweeping life to slider up to 74 mph and mixed a cutter at 72 mph with solid cut action. Left-handed hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate; slightly open and narrow stance at the plate. Tight hand set but very fast from launch, found the barrel consistently in live action including a triple to opposite field gap that jumped off of the barrel. Ball jumps off barrel when squared, repeats, shows best comfort working to pull side. Excellent student. Verbal commitment to Missouri.
