Evan Godwin is a 2019 LHP/1B/OF with a 6-1 185 lb. frame from Cypress, TX who attends The John Cooper HS. Long and lanky frame with long limbs and good physical projection remaining throughout the build. Primary lefthanded pitcher, gathers over rubber through a leg lift above the belt. Throws from a high three-quarter slot and gets on top consistently. Online stride toward the plate and throws with minimal effort. Threw strikes, ball comes out well, and deliberate tempo to the delivery. Missed a lot of bats and showed a feel for spin. Repeats delivery well and holds velocity out of the stretch. Showed a feel for three pitches and induced weak ground ball contact. Fields out front through a full arm action at first base. Showed some arm strength and made accurate throws with carry across the diamond. Lefthanded hitter, slighty open and wide stance who is looking to drive the ball into the air. Gets weight out in front well and swings from a line drive path and plane. Verbal commitment to Texas Tech.
