2015 National Underclass Showcase-Main Event
Matthew Walters is a 2017 OF/MIF with a 5-9 175 lb. frame from Pickerington, OH who attends Pickerington Central HS. Athletic build with good present strength. 7.17 runner, has good actions defensively in the outfield and moves through the ball well, clean arm action with nice arm strength, accurate on line throws. Switch hitter, shows bat speed from both sides of the plate. Right handed swing is a bit shorter and more line drive/pull oriented, more open left handed with a fluid line drive swing as well, showed gap to gap power, has the hitting tools to keep developing. Used his speed well and aggressively on the bases. Good student.
