Akira Mitchell is a 2017 1B/3B, OF with a 6-1 200 lb. frame from Buford, GA who attends Buford High School. Large build, athletic frame, present strength, and room to continue to add physically. Posted a 7.21 time in the 60 yard dash. Primary first basemen, hook in arm action, longer release, very clean actions through ball, and an accurate arm. Arm strength up to 82 mph across the infield. Switch hitter at the plate, started with a wide base, open stance, and a leg lift timing mechanism. Showed impressive raw power from both sides of the plate. Better bat speed from the right side and swung with intent with an approach geared on elevating the ball. Line drive plane with good torque through lower half. Timing holding back raw power from playing more, but projects well with slight refinement. Named to Top Prospect List.
