Kody Gratkowski is a 2017 MIF/RHP, OF, 3B with a 6-1 190 lb. frame from Fairhope, AL who attends Fairhope High School. Medium build and frame, athleticism, and room to continue to fill out physically and add strength. Posted an impressive 6.82 time in the 60 yard dash. Primary middle infielder, showed a long release, clean fielding actions, sure hands, accuracy to the bag, and developing arm strength. At the plate, started with a tall stance, open base, high hand set, high back elbow, and simple stride to the ball. Linear swing plane with good whip to the barrel through the zone. Compact, direct hand path to the ball with an all fields approach. Showed ability to drive the ball in the air with impact off the barrel. Also pitched, started with a large rocker step, medium leg raise, stayed tall on backside, created deception, and threw from a lower three quarter arm slot. Tight arm circle through the back with a slight crossfire element. Fastball showed good life at 78-82 mph. Slider showed 9/4 shape with early break and maintained arm speed. Will continue to improve on the mound with drive from lower half. Good student. Named to Top Prospect List.
