2022 High School All State Select Championship (2023-2024 Grads)
Tanner Wiggins is a 2023 RHP/IF, OF with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from North Richland Hills, TX who attends Temple Christian Schools. Long, lanky frame with a high waist and plenty of room to add strength. Recorded a 7.19 second sixty-yard dash time. Primary right-handed pitcher that worked from a simple, repeatable delivery with a coiled leg lift and good lower half movements down the slope. Fastball worked in the upper-80s for the majority of his outing, peaking at 92 mph from a loose three-quarters arm slot. Produced easy arm speed, repeats well and was around the strike zone. Mixed in a potential swing-and-miss breaking ball with both vertical and horizontal tilt to it. Showed ability to land it for strikes, while also displaying the aptitude to manipulate the speed and shape to it with two strikes. More velocity in the tank, will continue to improve with further refinements of his breaking ball and additional strength. Secondary outfielder with deliberate footwork into the fielding process. Worked downhill with short, choppy steps and gathered cleanly off his front foot. Carried some momentum into release and produced online, accurate throws up to 90 mph during drills. Switch-hitter that only hit right-handed, hit from an even base with a tight hand set and toe-tap trigger. Used slight weight shift into contact, a slightly elongated swing path and developing bat-to-ball skills. Will continue to improve with proper swing adjustments. Good Student. Verbal commitment to Weatherford College. Named to the 2022 National All State Select Top Prospect List.
