Jaxon Hammond is a 2017 SS/2B with a 6-1 175 lb. frame from Las Vegas, NV who attends Palo Verde. Large frame with quality, athletic build throughout and excellent projection remaining on body. Ran well, posting a 6.83 seconds 60 yard dash time. Hits from open stance with big leg lift, shows good hand speed with hands that work well into clean path. Rotational swing, linear plane, squares up line drives consistently to all fields. Worked out defensively both in the OF and the IF. Clean actions to the ball in the OF, fields cleanly and shows quick release out of hand, OF velocity up to 81 MPH with good accuracy. Comes and gets it well in the IF, fields cleanly with consistently good hand action, shows quick release with quality arm strength across the diamond up to 83 MPH. Named to 2015 California Underclass Showcase Top Prospect List. Very good student.
