Cage Cox is a 2016 C with a 5-10 180 lb. frame from Whigham, GA who attends Cairo HS. Compact strong catcher's build. Left handed hitter, short quick swing with an inside hand path, showed the ability to both pull the ball and stay behind it to the opposite field, uses the inside hand path correctly, ball comes off the barrel well when squared, shows patience and a mature approach at the plate, high average type swing with flashes of gap power. Good arm strength behind the plate, sound mechanics with good footwork and accuracy, receives well in games. Solid all around prospect. Good student. Named to the Showcase All Prospect Team.
