Darnell Domenech is a 2016 C with a 5-10 170 lb. frame from Loíza, PR who attends International Baseball Academy. Medium frame with highly athletic, solid frame. Body projects very well yet. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.33 seconds. Very advanced defensive tools behind the plate. Sets up with wider base and good overall flexibility, receives well and shows athletic agility throughout actions. Very quick feet with good explosion out of crouch, stays balanced but is very quick though process. Gains ground forward and has very quick release, popped as low as 1.81 seconds with solid, developing arm strength. Switch-hitter, shows a bit more smoothness from the right side. Lots of loft in swing with good bat speed, can turn the barrel effectively and drive the baseball. Shows solid contact ability from the left side with the willingness and ability to spray line drives to all fields. Named to 2016 World Uncommitted Showcase Top Prospect List. Good student.
