Caleb Armstrong is a 2016 RHP/MIF with a 6-0 185 lb. frame from Monroe, LA who attends Ouachita Parish HS. Medium, athletic build with broad shoulders and a well-proportioned frame with present strength. Very athletic, ran a 6.83 60-yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher, throws from an over the top slot with a short arm action at release. Some effort, quick arm from a balanced delivery with the ball coming out easily, steady tempo to delivery. Hides fastball well and generates late run to arm side, topping out at 84 mph and generates weak ground ball contact. Missed bats with fastball. Curveball showed 11-5 depth at 70 mph when on top and showed a good feel for it. Fields the ball out front in the infield, quick hands and release with strength and carry across the diamond, fluid actions to the ball. Right-handed hitter, starts with an upright stance and shows an aggressive approach. Long loose swing with a high finish and nice leverage in swing. Ball jumped off barrel nicely to pull side, creates consistent line drive contact with nice bat speed and extension out front. Outstanding student. Named to National Underclass South Top Prospect List.
