Jacob Chinery is a 2012 RHP/OF with a 5-10 170 lb. frame from Bellevue, WA who attends Newport. Chinery has a thin build with long limbs, a very projectable pitcher's frame. Works from an over-the-top arm slot on the mound, well balanced delivery. Shows arm speed and fastball has arm side run. Curveball break 12-6, and shows good spin and tilt, good feel for this secondary pitch. Projects well with continued development. Quick to the ball in the outfield with good footwork. Longer release on throws, but they are accurate to the base. Straight stance with a compact swing, looks to use opposite field and stays back well. Good student.
