John Balke is a 2014 C with a 5-11 175 lb. frame from Winter Park, FL who attends Edgewater. Has a medium compact build with good present strength. Shows good footwork behind the plate with a strong accurate arm. Is a good catch and throw guy who blocks well and has good instincts. Starts slightly open at the plate with a line drive swing plane, and makes consistent contact. Is short to the ball with bat speed, has lift in his swing and has power potential. Takes an aggressive approach at the plate and hits the ball to where it pitched. Is an outstanding student.
