LATEST PG SHOWCASE REPORT
2005 National Showcase
Ryan Adams is a 6-0, 180 lb shortstop from Jesuit HS in Madeville, Louisiana. He had a slight hamstring injury at the National Showcase and it affected him a bit, but we've seen him numerous times in the past and have a very good feel for him. Adams has a strong, well developed build for a middle infielder, which gives him very good offensive potential for his defensive position. He has a short, compact swing with very good bat speed. Adams has pop to all fields and is going to hit some home runs, especially if he swings metal. Adams usually is a 6.7 type 60 runner who is an agile athlete with first step quickness. He threw 85 mph during infield drills and we've seen him at 90+ on the mound, so arm strength is a big plus. Adams has polished defensive actions defensively and a very quick and sure release. He's the type who should have immediate success at the next level, whether that be in college or professional ball. Highest level prospect.
