Ethan Reason is a 2027 LHP/1B with a 6-5 170 lb. frame from Stouffville, ON who attends Stouffville District Secondary School. Lean, lanky build with plenty of projection and room to add more strength. Primary left-handed pitcher, utilizes a slower-paced full wind-up delivery with a belt-high leg lift. Separates into a clean arm path before releasing the baseball from a three-quarters slot. Has good rhythm to the operation with well-repeated mechanics. Fastball showed arm-side run and ultimately peaked at 79 mph. Located it effectively on the edges of the strike zone. Mixed in a 1-7 breaking ball with good depth as well as a changeup that killed tons of spin. Offers huge projection from a physicality and velocity standpoint. Secondary first baseman, stays behind the baseball and works through it at a deliberate pace. Displayed developing footwork around the bag with some quickness in the turns. Has softness in the hands with an accurate arm across the diamond. Released the ball from a lower slot and recorded arm strength up to 71 mph. Left-handed hitter, starts in an even stance with a high back elbow. Utilizes a drifting stride for timing. Bat path can be inconsistent at times. Remains short to the baseball and rotates the hips with intent. Displayed developing bat speed and consistency in the barrel. Projects for more power with additional strength and mechanical refinement. Posted an exit velocity of 76 mph. Ran a 7.66 sixty-yard dash. Good student.
