Alex Okamura is a 2027 C/RHP/2B with a 5-9 160 lb. frame from Toronto, ON who attends Kingsway College School. Medium build with plenty of room to fill in and get stronger. 7.70 runner in the sixty. Primary catcher that received from a slightly side-saddled stance with softness to his hands and developing arm strength. Incorporated deliberate footwork out of the crouch, gained minimal ground towards his target and exhibited an elongated mid-line transfer. Recorded fairly accurate throws up to 68 mph from behind the dish during drills. Secondary right-handed pitcher that worked from a repeatable stretch only delivery. Used a belt high leg lift, maintained good balance and direction down the slope and worked into a higher three-quarters arm slot. Fastball worked in the upper-60s to low-70s for the duration of his outing and topped out at 71 mph in this look. Strike thrower with developing command, flashed developing breaking ball with varying spin profile and changeup as go-to secondary offerings. Will continue to improve with mechanical refinements and additional velocity. Switch-hitter that showed slightly better from the left-side. Implored a wider, slightly open stance from both sides with developing bat speed and impact potential. Deep hand set creates some length, sprayed occasional line drives to all fields. Will continue to improve with proper swing adjustments and additional strength. Good Student.
