Jake Johnson is a 2007 OF with a 6'0'', 170 lb. frame from Temecula, CA, who attends Temecula Valley HS. Johnson has a taller frame with present strength. Defensively he has a quick arm from the outfield with solid carry. He moves well to the ball showing good actions and a nice glove. At the plate he is a right handed hitter who hits from a closed and upright stance. Johnson takes an aggressive, compact swing and explodes to the ball. He has quick wrists and keeps his hands inside the ball well. Johnson has leverage in his swing when he gets a good weight shift and drives the ball. He swing with a slight upper-cut swing looking to drive the ball, but stays balanced throughout his swing. Johnson has good upside to his overall game.
