Matthew Wood is a 2024 LHP/OF with a 6-1 210 lb. frame from Trumbull, CT who attends Trumbull. Large frame with strong and physical build; ran 60 yard dash in 7.44 seconds. Graded out best on the mound in this event. Works from the stretch, leg lift to belt, short and compact arm stroke to 3/4 slot release, head whack at release, fastball worked 81-84 mph with life to arm side, touched 86 mph, fastball dominated when in zone, showed slurvy breaker with some sweep that blended shapes, best breaker came on true horizontal-breaker sliders, flashes changeup with slight fade. Hits from high-handed set and short stride, spins way off over front side, early front side and hand release, pull-side approach. Threw 78 mph from the outfield. Very good student, named to 2023 Main Event Uncommitted Top Prospect List.
