Evan Mattern is a 2027 SS/RHP/IF with a 5-11 150 lb. frame from Bellefonte, PA who attends Bellefonte Area. Works from a lean frame with long levers and room to add strength as he continues to physically mature. Primary shortstop, attacked the baseball with urgency and got rid of it quickly. Footwork and balance is a bit spotty. Has some present arm speed. Recorded arm strength up to 77 mph across the diamond. Right-handed hitter, starts in a narrow open base with low and tight hands. Utilizes an inward hover trigger for timing and works into an uphill bat path. Produced line drives to the middle of the field when timed up. Displayed a developing feel for the barrel with some power potential. Recorded an exit velocity of 79 mph. Ran a 7.40 sixty-yard dash. Excellent student.
