Derrick Taveras is a 2027 2B/SS with a 5-7 155 lb. frame from Windermere, FL who attends West Orange. Smaller medium build. Right handed hitter, starts from a narrow stance with a simple load and timer, easy to repeat and execute swing approach, direct short swing with a middle of the field line drive orientation, doesn't try to do too much, lived on the barrel to the middle of the field. 7.14 runner in the sixty. Primary second baseman on defense, has quick feet and has solid actions and range, gets to his spots well and takes good routes, fields the ball easily and cleanly, compact arm stroke and makes accurate throws. Overall a very sound fundamental player who is comfortable with his skills. Chance to improve as he gets stronger. Good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
