Gian Lacomba is a 2028 C/RHP/1B with a 5-8 165 lb. frame from Florida, PR who attends Carlos Beltran Baseball Academy. Stocky athletic build with plenty of present strength. 8.19 runner in the sixty. Primary catcher on defense, has good hands receiving the ball, quick release into his throws, gets downhill on his throws and has very good arm strength for his age, consistent on-line throws. Right handed hitter, hits from a medium straight stance with a short stride into contact, keeps his hands tight and hits inside the ball, mostly opposite field contact, has the strength to open up his swing and develop real bat speed. Took a turn on the mound, works from the stretch with a compact over the top arm slot, tends to fall off hard to the first base side and not stay behind the ball but threw strikes with a fastball that topped out at 77 mph.
