Sam Black is a 2024 RHP/SS with a 5-11 165 lb. frame from San Anselmo, CA who attends Sir Francis Drake/Archie Williams. Tall lengthy framed primary right hander that works with up-tempo delivery that he repeats well. The short arm stroke is fluid with release out of a three-quarters slot. Athletic mover down the hill with hard heel first strike. Slider was landed front door with late bite to it. Added tilt to it when necessary. In the infield, high effort laterals with decent rhtyhm in the feet. The arm plays in a big way with slight cross fire angle to it. At the plate, he sets up with balanced slight open. Load is big leg kick with quality bat speed. The feel for the barrel stands out with approach that works gap to gap. Present gap power that should only improve as he fills. 7.73 60-yard. Oustanding student. Named to the Top Prospect list.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
