Beckett Shimpa is a 2027 LHP/1B/OF with a 6-3 195 lb. frame from Maple Grove, MN who attends Maple Grove. Bigger athletic build with good present strength and more to come. Works from a high leg raise coiled delivery with a long stride down the mound and high 3/4 slot release. Above average arm speed from the left side with a fastball that topped at 90 mph with arm side run. Primary off speed pitch was the change up that showed tumbling action and was sold well with maintained arm speed. Slider was a firm horizontal breaking pitch with developing spin efficiency. Average overall command but notable arm talent. Also worked out in the outfield showing developing mechanics and a big arm up to 91 from the position. Left-handed hitter hit from a narrow base with leg lift timing. Strength in the swing with a slight uphill bat path and pull side approach. Very Good student. Named to the PG Minnesota Indoor Showcase Top Prospect List.
