2023 14U Georgia All-State Games
Nolan Ellington is a 2027 RHP/SS, OF with a 5-10 140 lb. frame from Matthews, NC who attends Weddington High School. Medium, athletic frame with long limbs and a lean build, lots of room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.65 60-yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher, abbreviated windup, starts on the first base side of rubber, creates some whip to the arm stroke through back working to a lower slot at release. Fastball topped out at 83 mph, shows heavy sinking life through the zone, creates some deception and threw strikes. Sweeping action to slider up to 70 mph, occasionally gets under it but can incorporate into repertoire more often. Good athlete and fields position well. Big arm strength from both the outfield and across the infield; low and on line throws from the outfield with carry, ball comes out of hand cleanly and with accuracy. Shows timing to actions in the dirt, plays with balance and shows the ability to adjust slot as needed on release. Right-handed hitter, begins with a slightly open stance and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate. Longer swing path through the zone, creates some separation, bat speed will continue to develop, shows a handle for the barrel, contact oriented approach. Named to the 14u Georgia All-State Games Top Prospect List.
