Isaiah Matthews is a 2024 OF/RHP with a 5-10 160 lb. frame from Humble, TX who attends Atascocita. A primary outfielder with an average athletic build. Showed plus speed with a 6.51 second sixty. Waits back on the ball in the outfield with a measured approach fielding the ball on the side and working into a longer gather with a big shuffle into an accurate throw with average arm speed. Uses the lower half well on the mound with good drive while staying on his line to the plate. Shows tempo to the arm action getting to a high three-quarters arm slot with some whip out front producing a mid to upper 70's fastball. Shows some feel for the spin on the curveball dropping it in the zone with some techniques of sequencing pitches off of one another. Right-handed hitter, starts with a wider base shifting the weight to the back side in the load. The path is mostly linear through the zone with little weight transfer toward the ball while staying short to the inside part of the baseball. Excellent student.
