Cesar Gonzalez is a 2024 C with a 5-8 170 lb. frame from Springfield, MA who attends Springfield Central. Medium, broad shouldered frame with present physical strength proportioned and additional room to fill throughout. Ran a 7.75 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, lower set up behind the plate, receives out front and shows softness in hands, will continue to refine footwork coming out of crouch but big time arm strength and carry on throws, up to 81 mph with low effort release, ball jumps with true carry to second base. Also pitched, toe tap on rubber at start of delivery and shows ability to change tempos, repeats arm stroke and filled up the strike zone with three pitches. Easy velocity out of the hand, topped out at 90 mph and worked in the upper-80s, big life through the zone with natural run; mixed a changeup at 77 mph with sinking life and maintained arm speed. Showed command and life on all three offerings. Right-handed hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate, utilizes a leg lift trigger and does a nice job of staying short to the baseball. Shows hand speed and strength in swing through the zone, found the barrel throughout live action with hard contact to pull side; shows ability to generate carry when extended out front, stays simple with mechanics and uncoils well into contact. Very good student. Named to Fall Connecticut Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
