John Henry Kohorst is a 2025 LHP/OF with a 6-2 175 lb. frame from Apple Valley, MN who attends Cretin Derham Hall. Recorded a 7.80 second sixty yard dash time. Taller, high-waisted frame. Primary pitcher works from a hybrid set-up, drops the glove to the belt and then lifts the leg up above the belt. Shows a real long arm action through the back with a longer takeaway through the back with a loose three- quarter arm slot. Some acceleration of the arm. The fastball (2217 RPM) was 87-89 with some arm-side life. Commands it well with some burst out of the hand and works well up in the zone. Tunnels off the low-80s change-up (1468 RPM) well with some arm-side depth to it with good fade. The curveball (2475 RPM) was up to 78 with quality depth to it. 1-7 shape with good bite and feel to spin it. Left-handed hitter starts from an even base with a slightly open stance with high hands and an even back elbow, utilizes a leg lift trigger. Quick hands with a flat bat path and some jump off the barrel. Collected two hits in game including a hard hit to the pull-side gap in game action. Exciting player with a high ceiling. Good student. Iowa commit. Named to the 2024 Minnesota Indoor Showcase Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
