2025 PG Ohio Valley Indoor Showcase
Thomas Barnhart is a 2027 C/RHP/2B with a 5-11 180 lb. frame from West Union, OH who attends Manchester. Recorded a 7.48 second sixty yard dash time. Medium build with good athleticism. Primary catcher works from a squared stance with a wide base. Pops up well and gains ground with a fast arm and releases from the ear. Secondary outfielder with deliberate and choppy footwork. Passive footwork and accelerates late and aggressively into a clean arm path with a fast shoulder. Tons of arm talent recording throws up to 94 from the outfield. Also threw an inning on the mound. The right-handed pitcher starts with a back leg coil and medium leg load. Long levers and projectable frame on the mound. Releasing at a high three- quarter arm slot. Fastball (2041 RPM) was up to 88 and jumps from the hand and riding life through the zone. The curveball (1900 RPM) was a devastating breaking ball with 11-5 tilt and late snap. Showed the ability to produce whiffs with the offering and showed the makings of being a go to out-pitch. Also flashed a change-up (1805 RPM) with fade and drop. Right-handed hitter starts from an even base with a high back elbow and high hands, utilizes a hover trigger. In-sync operation with some separation into launch with quickness in the hips and hands. Can adjust the barrel. Exciting player with a high ceiling. Excellent student. Named to the 2025 Ohio Valley Indoor Showcase Top Prospect List.
