Luke Hazelip is a 2027 RHP/1B/OF with a 5-10 150 lb. frame from Summerville, SC who attends Ashley Ridge. Medium slender young build. Multi-part delivery with lots of check points, side step/back lean start with a deep arm take away in back, lands open on landing with his front side, can improve his direction to the plate from start to release, 3/4 arm slot coming through. Fastball worked up to 72 mph, mostly straight and worked to the glove side consistently. Also threw a soft curveball and a change up, change up was the better pitch this day, tends to slow his arm down on his curveball. 8.26 runner in the sixty, worked out in the outfield during drills. Right handed hitter, hits from a very spread stance with a busy hand load, swings hard and flashed some strength on contact, flat swing plane. Improvement on both sides of the ball will come with better direction and simpler mechanics.
