Darren Ochoa is a 2026 1B/RHP/OF with a 6-0 203 lb. frame from Port Saint Lucie, FL who attends St. Lucie West Centennial. Big and strong build, especially in the lower half. Right handed hitter, hits from a narrow and open stance with a big coil into his load, longer rotational swing creates some timing inconsistency, will spin off at times, showed some power to right center field when he got his hands extended and barrel up, has the strength to improve as a hitter with adjustments. 7.72 runner in the sixty. Primary first baseman on defense, moves well for his size and fields the ball cleanly out front, makes the routine plays routinely. Also worked out in the outfield, arm works better on the grass with some accurate on line carry, was aggressive moving to the ball. Also pitched, works from a full hands over head delivery with a high leg raise and a full high 3/4's arm action, will land hard on his front side and not get over it at times. Fastball topped out at 79 mph with some sinking life, also threw a slider that had some spin and occasional two-plane shape. Good student.
