Grayson Fontaine is a 2028 LHP/1B with a 6-3 200 lb. frame from North Wales, PA who attends North Penn. Features a taller and physical build with present strength. Ran a 7.70 60-yd dash. At 1B, displayed quality actions. Fields it in rhythm showing clean glovework. Arm showed very well, advanced strength across with accurate quick feeds on DPs as well. At the plate, he got off some intentful hacks. Starts in a medium base with lower set hands. Uses a smaller leg lift trigger as the hands takeback and get the barrel into a deep loaded position. Showed quickness and strength to the lower-half and hands as he rotates through and throws the barrel with some advanced bat speed. Slight uphill barrel path as he launched several balls deep into the OF with a couple leaving the yard to the pullside. On the mound, showed a smooth/easy operation. Uses a mid-chest knee lift with a smaller drop in the driveleg but drifts well down the mound and lands on-line. Arm works loose/continuous to a higher 3/4 slot with adv. armspeed. FB worked up to 85 and showed inconsistent shape with both cut/run at times but threw quality strikes with it, produced some in-zone whiffs and showed some armside tendencies. SL in the mid 70s had quality late depth and produced some chase whiffs under barrels.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
