Ryan Welch is a 2027 1B/RHP/3B with a 6-0 211 lb. frame from Mechanicsville, MD who attends Chopticon. Strong built, broad frame with present strength and advanced physicality especially for his class. Ran the 60 yard dash in 7.46 seconds. Primary position 1B, showing solid mobility and comfort working around the bag through his reps. Glove work is present and the arm really played as he made accurate throws up to 83 mph across the diamond. Secondary RHP, using a simple and repeatable delivery, loading tall over the rubber allowing him to use his strong lower half. Clean direction, leveraging the ball downhill. FB up to 84 mph with heavy boring action to the arm side and a touch of downhill tilt. Breaking ball with two-plane shape and decent spin with late bite. RHH loading well into his backside pre-pitch and is fluid throughout his mechanics. Hand speed present with advanced musculature and gets on plane quickly to launch. Will get a touch rotational creating top-spin but when on time and in the middle of the field there is excellent trajectory off the barrel. Legitimate two-way skill set to watch in the coming months.

Right Handed Hitting
Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
