Wilson Javier Villanueva is a 2024 SS/2B, 3B, OF with a 5-11 160 lb. frame from Isabela, PR who attends Carlos Beltran Baseball Academy. Recorded a 6.64 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop with a medium build. Ranged comfortably in the dirt with clean footwork. Showed plenty of arm across the diamond, up to 87 mph in infield drills. Clean transfer and clear athleticism at short. Also worked out in the outfield, displaying deliberate footwork and the same good arm strength, up to 88 mph from the outfield. Right-handed hitter and starts from a wide base with a high back elbow and hands. Utilized a hands-oriented swing with a steep bat path through the zone. Employed a middle of the field approach, recorded an exit velocity of 88 mph. Great student. Named to the 2023 Sunshine East Showcase Top Prospect List.
