Stephen Rickert is a 2024 RHP/IF with a 6-1 170 lb. frame from Williston, VT who attends Champlain Valley. Long and lean build with plenty of room to get stronger. Works out of the stretch with a long and deep arm circle, sinks into his back hip well and drives down the mound well, has energy to his delivery and will get over rotational with his upper half at times. Fastball worked in the upper 70's, gets good cutting action at times. Both his secondary pitches were solid, curveball had good arm speed and lots of depth with occasional sharp biting action. Change up was a nice pitch with good arm side fading action, threw strikes with his secondary pitches more effectively than with his fastball. Played infield when not on the mound, moves well with his feet and has some athleticism, tends to bend at the waist to field at times, arm works well with some carry on his throws. Right handed hitter, hits from a narrow slightly crouched stance with a hanging leg raise trigger, has quick hands and a compact swing with some lift out front, showed very consistent barrel to ball skills with some jump to the middle of the field. Good all around player who should continue to improve with additional strength and physical maturity. Good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
