2022 Kansas City Indoor Showcase
Jake Russell is a 2023 OF with a 5-11 150 lb. frame from Overland Park, KS who attends Blue Valley. Slender young build. Primary outfielder on defense, runs the sixty in 7.46. Charges the ball aggressively, still developing his footwork through the ball and through release, arm works well with some projection as he gets stronger. Right handed hitter, hits from an upright closed stance with a short stride into contact, gets his front shoulder all the way turned in, hand drop load that creates some uphill plane to the ball, swings hard looking to drive the ball, raw bat speed will continue to improve with additional strength. Good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
