Eddie Johnson is a 2024 RHP/1B with a 6-3 210 lb. frame from Algonquin, IL who attends Huntley High School. Large frame with broad shoulders and strong build; ran 60 yard dash in 7.56 seconds. Primary righthanded pitcher, high leg lift with simple process that he repeats well, directional stride downhill, works from high 3/4 slot, fastball worked 77-80 and touched 82 mph, flashed curveball with 11/5 shape and a sharper slider with tilt, also kills spin well on changeup. Took defensive reps at 1st base, hands work well, understands angles and creates them, clocked up to 84 mph on throws across diamond. Hits from open stance with hands set tight, simple and repeatable swing, works towards the middle of the field on a line drive plane. Good student, named to 2023 Main Event Uncommitted Top Prospect List.
