2024 Wow Factor National Showcase
Sam Fassbender is a 2026 OF/RHP/1B with a 6-1 177 lb. frame from Hendersonville, TN who attends Montgomery Bell Academy. Nice athletic build with some present strength and more to come. 6.74 runner in the sixty. Primary outfielder on defense, has a long and loose arm action, has some carry to his throws, needs to learn to get on top of the ball better for better on line carry and accuracy, tools to develop with better fundamentals. Also worked out in the infield and at first base and showed his arm well but should concentrate on the outfield moving forward. Right handed hitter, sets up in a slightly open stance with a big leg pull back load, swings hard and has some bat speed, line drive swing plane with a strong top hand, hit to all fields with some jump off the barrel. Also pitched and has potential as a two-way player, sinks into his delivery well and gets into his lower half, 3/4's arm slot with good feel for his mechanics and release. Fastball topped out at 82 mph with high spin characteristics. Slider had very good spin and some tight biting action, change up was a solid pitch as well and he showed the ability to throw both his secondary pitches for strikes with some feel and quality. Exceptional student.
